Would you like to estimate the cost of a software project?

There are several techninques to estimate the cost and schedule of a software development project. Typically estimating techniques are based on the organization's project history, as well as on the characteristics of the project to be estimated. When no historical data is available a secondary data source may be used. ti MÉTRICAS works with the ISBSG - International Software Benchmarking Standards Group database, in addition to thousands of projects collected by the company.

The functional size is an important input to estimating the cost and schedule of a project. Such estimates may be obtained through simple linear models, or through parametric models such as COCOMO II(R) from the University of Southern California. ti MÉTRICAS has participated in the development of COCOMO II since 2002.

A sistematic measurement process is essential to obtaining trustworthy estimates. To that end the implementation of a systematic measurement process is paramount. If the best solution for your organization involves the implementation of a measurement process focused on software size, productivity, or other attributes, ti MÉTRICAS will support you in every step of the way. ti MÉTRICAS is a PSM - Practical Software & Systems Measurement transition organization. Our company received an award from the PSM Support Center (US Army) in 2003.
